چکیده
Case 1 17-year-old boy referred to the Autoimmune Diseases Centre with symmetrical proximal muscle weakness, weight loss, dysphagia, periungual lesions and erythema of hands and eyelids with a year of evolution. Laboratory tests showed elevated lactate dehydrogenase, creatine kinase, transaminases and aldolase. Immunological/serological tests were negative. Capillaroscopy was compatible with Juvenile Dermatomyositis. Electromyography and muscle biopsy revealed nonspecific inflammatory myopathy. Corticosteroids were used but there was progression of disease. Rituximab was introduced with significant clinical improvement.

Background: Childhood masturbation (CM) is considered a variant of normal sexual behavior; however, it is commonly misdiagnosed as epilepsy and movement disorders. As the first study from Iran, we analyzed a large population of infants and children with CM in a case-control study and evaluated the value of mucus in urine analysis as an alternative diagnostic tool for CM.Methods: A total of 623 ...
متن کاملAutoimmune Hemolytic Anemia in a Patient with Probable Ataxia Telangiectasia: A Case Report
Background: Ataxia telangiectasia (AT) is one of the combined immunodeficiency syndromes with immunologic, neurologic, endocrinologic, hepatic and cutaneous abnormalities. Regarding the fact that autoimmune disorders; such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA), are not generally expected in the course of AT, we present a patient with an unusual presentation of these two conditions. Case present...
متن کاملP 86: CD166 as a Therapeutic Target in Autoimmune Diseases
About 3 decades ago CD6 identified as one of the first antigens expresses on the majority of T cells and a subset of B cells. CD6 regulates cellular adhesion migration across the endothelial and epithelial cells. In recent years researches indicate its role in pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. Many researches have been done in recent years to block CD6 by CD6 mono clonal antibodies, IOR-T1 a...
متن کاملB cells in health and disease.
B cells play a key role in regulating the immune system by producing antibodies, acting as antigen-presenting cells, providing support to other mononuclear cells, and contributing directly to Inflammatory pathways. Accumulating evidence points to disruption of these tightly regulated processes in the pathogenesis of autoimmune disorders. Although the exact mechanisms involved remain to be eluci...
